Orenda Technologies is a chemical manufacturer that has specialized in engineering
non-toxic, non-hazardous, pool maintenance products for
more than 10 years.
Orenda’s early customers were large, commercial waterparks, but they needed a new
marketing strategy to break into the home pool-care market. We were able to give them
a complete package that revamped their image and had an immediate, notable impact
on Orenda’s bottom line.
We rebuilt Orenda’s image from the ground up, starting with a new logo and color scheme. We then expanded on those themes in designing their new website, using calming earth tones and rounded edges to further the natural feel we’d created to compliment the brand’s identity.
Having seen how to best integrate the elements we’d chosen for the website, we applied the same look and feel to printed materials, creating new business cards and a 3-
panel brochure. The unique rounded corners were one of the design themes that tied
the print pieces to the website. We then designed new product packaging, both to
maintain consistency in the look of the products and marketing materials, and to give
the products more visual presence on store shelves.
Orenda has always used the same, industrial-looking bottles since going into business.
They are essentially the same bottles used to contain quarts of motor oil or gallons of
antifreeze. Orenda’s existing clientele was used to this bottle design, differentiating
products by
their corresponding red, blue, or black lids. Our challenge was to take this
rather generic bottle shape and design a product label that would offset its industrial
look, while also maintaining a connection to past packaging with the red, blue and black
color scheme that had previously been used to identify specific products. Once the new
product labels were completed, we had bottles with the new labels professionally photographed
and edited for use on vendor websites and other company materials.
To boost Orenda’s recognition in the market, FCC fully designed and produced a 24-minute video presentation, educating Orenda’s potential customer base about their
products and how they worked. We took a multimedia approach, integrating live action,
reinforced strong points with text, and animation illustrating the science behind the
products. We made versions in both English and
Spanish.
This video was no shoestring production, either. The live action segments were filmed
with equipment from Panavision, and the voice-overs were recorded in a high-end Dallas
studio. FCC assembled and encoded the entire production in-house, then designed
the DVD and DVD sleeve. The result is clean and professional, and an integral part of
the larger, coordinated package we put together for them.
My company was in the process of redesigning its product packaging at the beginning
of a marketing push when we first worked with FullClip Creative. Their depth of knowledge
in
branding was exactly what we needed to pull it all off. FullClip Creative took
good, working products and made them relevant with packaging, audio and video tools,
and image development that have produced remarkable results. We did not receive
